Career Opportunities

Your success is our success—that’s why we invest in training and supporting our crew.

No matter your background, if you’re ready to advance in your career, McDonald’s Houston offers training and growth opportunities at every level of the business from crew to management. And our flexible schedules mean that even those with outside obligations like school or family have a path to success at McDonald’s.

Meet Maria

With the Archways to Opportunity program, Maria receives tuition assistance for her bachelor's degree while advancing her career with McDonald's.

Meet Pillo

At first, Pillo Godinez didn't take his job at McDonald’s too seriously. But when his managers noticed his natural ability to connect with people, they helped Pillo change his mindset about what he was capable of and build the skills he needed for leadership. Now he's the GM that knows all the regulars' names. (He also got his GED along the way!)

Meet Tino

Kitchen manager Tino Carvajal came to the US in 2000. Born with one arm, his father taught him that, with hard work, he would always be seen as an equal. He credits his supportive team at McDonald’s for proving that. Twenty-two years later, he still lives his passion for serving customers and crafting food with love.

Meet Alyssa

When Alyssa Ellis got a high school job at McDonald's, she didn't know her co-workers would later help her through one of the hardest times in her life. Now 22, she's an HR Clerk and Department Manager at McDonald's in Brenham, and she's learned leadership skills she never imagined with the support of local owner/operator Tanyel Bennett.

Meet Yashmine

For McDonald's crew member Yashmine Hernandez, the flexibility of her job is key to her success as a University of Houston student. Yashmine gets extra support from the Archways to Opportunity program, which provides crew with up to $3,000 of tuition assistance per year.

Meet Elva

General Manager Elva Castrejon didn’t speak English when she started in the kitchen, 23 years ago. After quickly improving her listening and speaking skills through her daily duties, her manager moved her to the front. Elva identifies with workers starting their first job and enjoys setting them up for success by showing them the basics of punctuality, planning, and professionalism.

Meet Jay

Jay Young started working at McDonald’s in ninth grade to save up for a cell phone. Starting on the cleaning crew, he loved the job’s opportunities for human interaction. His gift for communicating and cheering on his crew members serve him well as Director of Operations. Jay’s growth as a leader was recognized in 2013 with a $25,000 Ray Kroc Award.

Meet Sofia

Sofia Salazar started at McDonald’s when she was 20, but never imagined she'd make it her career. Working with people shifted her view. She loved listening with a smile and seeing her employees grow and succeed. Promoted to General Manager in 2018, Sofia attended Hamburger University in Chicago, where she learned to evolve as a leader.

Meet Allison

Houston's Allison Golding went from crew member to General Manager in just 3 and a half years! She credits her rise to the training and support she received at McDonald's, as well as her drive and her passion for making customers smile.

Meet Luis

Pasadena's Luis Guevara started at McDonald's because he knew the experience would help him as he studied business management. What he didn't expect was the flexibility and support of his work family as he balanced work and school, and eventually became a father. And with the Archways to Opportunity program, Luis received nearly $14,000 towards his college tuition over 5 years.

Meet Fidel

Fidel Davalos has always loved working on cars and machines, so IT was a natural fit for him. After joining McDonald's as a crew member, he realized he wanted to pursue a path in managing the company's technology. After a year of training, Fidel is now an official OTP, running all the tech operations at 10 local McDonald's restaurants.

Meet Devin

For Devin Potvin, the opportunity to work as a manager while playing college baseball helped change his thinking about McDonald's from a summer job to a promising career. And through our partnership with Colorado Technical University, Devin was later able to earn an MBA while also balancing a job and a growing family.

Meet Tony

Tony Chang came to Houston from Cambodia in 1979 as a refugee, and got a job at McDonald's while he was in high school as a way to support his parents. Step by step, he was able to build a career at McDonald's, rising to become an Area Supervisor.

Meet Dolores

Meet Robert

Supervisor Robert Julks started at McDonald’s over 40 years ago and feels lucky to still be with the company today. Though he only started to make a bit of money on the side, he’s proud to have achieved so much with us and continues to mentor his team daily.
